Mystery hospital visitor leaves Roy Cropper's family concerned

Coronation Street will be airing a new twist next week as a mystery hospital visitor leaves Roy Cropper's family concerned. It's been a tough few weeks for Roy after he was wrongly arrested, charged and the number one suspect for the supposed murder of missing teenager Lauren Bolton. Soap fans will recall that Joel Deering was revealed to be Lauren's real killer in a huge twist and the police have since arrested abuser Nathan Curtis, who previously made Bethany Platt's life a living misery, thinking he's the culprit, resulting in Roy finally being freed.

In upcoming scenes, Roy is set for more heartbreak when he steps onto the cobbles to take some homemade soup to colleague Shona Platt. As he heads to Shona's, Roy is confronted by a gang of yobs calling him names and he stumbles to the floor in terrifying scenes.

Carla Connor is quick to rush to his aid but it's clear Roy is in pain. Things go from bad to worse when Shona admits she was never ill, which results in Roy sending her and Evelyn Plummer packing. Shona is quick to tell Roy's niece, Nina Lucas, what has happened when an ambulance rounds the corner. Worrying about Roy, the duo rush into the café to find Roy being given CPR in a horrifying twist. Later, in the hospital, a mystery visitor appears at Roy's bedside...

Later in the week, Roy drifts in and out of consciousness whilst his mystery visitor stays at his bedside before disappearing. It's not long until Roy tells Nina about his surprise visitor. However, the shock news leaves Nina wondering if he is hallucinating. Who does he think he has seen and will Roy be okay?

Rowan Cunliffe's new recruit revealed in worrying twist

Coronation Street has revealed Rowan Cunliffe's next victim on the cobbles in a worrying twist. Soap watchers will recall that mysterious newcomer Rowan has targeted Leanne Battersby with his "self-improvement group" The Institute. Rowan has also been pulling Leanne away from partner Nick Tilsley and even her sister Toyah Battersby during her time of need.

Rowan has been encouraging Leanne to open up about her past and the trauma she has faced, using his tools and guiding her to speak aloud about parts of her life. In a shock twist, Rowan was recently revealed to be recording everything Leanne was saying without her knowledge. Of course, viewers will recall that Toyah has been concerned for Leanne and extremely sceptical of Rowan.

In recent scenes, Leanne even headed off to a retreat with The Institute and she didn't even say goodbye to some of her family while last month it was revealed that Rowan and The Institute had created an AI version of Leanne's late son Oliver, who tragically died in 2020 after a battle with mitochondrial disease. In recent scenes, The Institute and Rowan have made Toyah's life a misery after she tried to expose them.

And next week teases more danger for the cobbles as The Institute reveals a new recruit. In upcoming scenes this week, Amy Barlow opens up to Leanne about how stressed she is to which she decides to show her a video from The Institute to relieve her anxiety. However, Toyah is horrified when she finds Leanne showing Amy the video and is left further startled to learn that Amy is considering investing.

And next week airs a worrying development as Amy appears to join The Institute. In upcoming scenes, Rowan calls Leanne asking her to attend the taster session for new recruits to which protective sibling Toyah offers to go with her. As they arrive at the Chariot Square Hotel for the new recruits session, Leanne is delighted to see Amy amongst the attendees. Is Amy in danger and can Toyah save her before its too late?

Resident stunned as villain's return 'sealed' in new update

Coronation Street is set for explosive scenes next week as one resident is left shocked to learn that a villain could be returning. Earlier this year, teenagers Dylan and schoolmate Mason bullied Maria Connor's son Liam, who contemplated ending his own life in heartbreaking scenes. Things took an even more disturbing turn when it was revealed to a shocked Gary and Maria that Mason had even threatened Liam with a knife.

After the shock bombshell, Gary and Maria took Liam to the police station, where he reported the incident. Later, the police called at Sean's home, saying they had reason to believe Dylan was hiding a zombie knife that was used in an assault but the knife couldn't be found. Dylan, who had been hiding the knife for Mason, lied pretending he knew nothing about it and later Mason ordered Dylan to get the knife and meet up with him.

However, it was another one of Mason's evil tactics as when a nervous Dylan waited, PC Craig Tinker approached, finding the knife in his bag and arresting him on the spot. During Dylan's court hearing, he pleaded guilty to carrying a knife in a public place and he was handed a community service order. Meanwhile, Mason received a prison sentence.

In spoilers for next week, Maria is left stunned to get a letter saying Mason is due to be released from prison. Ever the doting mum, Maria heads to the police station to ask some questions and find out if Mason is at risk of returning to the cobbles. However, Maria gets more than she bargains for when she spots husband Gary at the police station with Sarah Platt providing bank statements. As Gary comes out of the interview room, Maria demands to know what is going on...
