AEROSMITH CANCEL SHOWS, RETIRE FROM TOURING: 'FULL RECOVERY' FOR STEVEN TYLER'S VOICE IS 'NOT POSSIBLE'

"Peace Out: The Farewell Tour" was scheduled to end in 2025.

Aerosmith is exiting the stage.

Band members announced Friday that the group is ending its Peace Out: The Farewell Tour early, and will no longer tour at all. Frontman Steven Tyler, 76, who's known for his high-pitched voice, can no longer sing like he used to, due to medical issues.

"We've always wanted to blow your mind when performing," the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers wrote in the statement below. "As you know, Steven's voice is an instrument like no other. He has spent months tirelessly working on getting his voice to where it was before his injury. We've seen him struggling despite having the best medical team by his side. Sadly, it is clear, that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible. We have made a heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision — as a band of brothers — to retire from the touring stage."

The band, which has cranked out hit after hit since dropping their debut album in 1973, is known for songs such as "Sweet Emotion," "Walk This Way," "Love in an Elevator," "Cryin,'" and "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing."

After kicking off the tour in 2023, they played only a handful of times before having to postpone shows in September 2023. Aerosmith noted that Tyler had injured his vocal cords at a concert in New York, adding later that month that the injury was worse than first thought, and they would be off the road longer than expected. Tyler had fractured his larynx, and doctors had advised him to rest his voice.

They had planned to hit the road again in September and tour through early next year.

Members — including Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer, Joe Perry, and Brad Whitford — thanked fans for having "given us a place in the soundtrack of your lives."

Tyler has also made headlines in the past few years, because of two lawsuits filed against him from women alleging he sexually assaulted them as teenagers in the ’70s. In March, a Los Angeles court granted Tyler's request to strike parts of one suit against him, which alleges both sexual assault and battery, according to PEOPLE. A second woman had alleged alleged in court last year that he sexually assaulted her twice in one day, but that suit was dismissed.

Tyler denied wrongdoing.
